From fictional author June French (with some assistance from nonfictional author Julia Whelan) comes the sweeping Romance project narrated by characters Sewanee Chester and Nick "Brock McNight" Sullivan in Thank You For Listening:

"The descendant of Giacomo Casanova, Alessandro is a trained expert in the art of love and carrying on his family's 200 year-old name and tradition. The one woman he's always wanted, Claire, is the one woman he could never have — until now. For three days, he will give her everything she wants, everything she imagines, and everything she didn’t think was possible… Everything, that is, except forever."

NOTE: This is a SPICY listen. If you blushed while reading Thank You For Listening, this one will turn you crimson. Then again, maybe it won’t! Maybe, like the heroine, you’re ready to push some personal boundaries. You might even enjoy that. Still: consider yourself warned.

Sebastian York (Narrator) is probably exactly who you think he is. He flies choppers. He chops wood. Born in England, raised an army brat, still looking for home. Likes wine, women, and song. The title of his memoir will be You’re So Wet or Crash Landing. He’ll get back to you.

Edoardo Ballerini (Narrator) - Called "a master in his field" (The New York Times) and "in a class by himself" (Oprah Daily), Edoardo  is a 2 time winner, and 5 time nominee, of the Audio Publishers Associations "Best Male Narrator" Award, a two time winner of Society of Voice Arts Awards, an AudioFile Magazine "Golden Voice" and the American Library Association's 2023 "Voice of Choice." He is also a familiar face on screens, with credits ranging from the recent A Murder at the End of the World to The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire. edoardoballerini.com

Johnathan McClain (Narrator) is an award winning actor, screenwriter, novelist and audiobook narrator. As an actor, his extensive resumé includes a notable turn on Mad Men, as well as the lead on the TV Land comedy series, Retired at 35. As a writer and producer, Johnathan's feature film debut, The Outfit, starring Mark Rylance, launched in the spring of 2022. In 2024, Podium Entertainment released the first novel in the Meet Your Maker series, a pentalogy of high fantasy novels, which Johnathan is co-authoring with bestselling fantasy writer Seth McDuffee and for which he also narrates the audiobooks. As an audiobook narrator, Johnathan has recorded approximately 200 titles and received multiple Audiofile Earphone Awards, SOVAS nominations, and an Audie. He is hard at work on too many projects to list. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Laura. johnathanmcclain.com

Julia WhelanJulia Whelan (Author/Narrator) Dubbed "The Adele of Audiobooks" by The New Yorker, Julia Whelan is an author, screenwriter, lifelong actor, and acclaimed audiobook narrator of over 600 titles. Her performance of her own debut novel, the international bestseller My Oxford Year (coming soon to Netflix), garnered a Society of Voice Arts award. Her 2022 novel, Thank You For Listening, was a Best-of-the-Year pick at Amazon, Audible, and NPR as well as a Goodreads Choice Award nominee and winner of the Golden Poppy. She is the founder of Audiobrary, a new audio publishing company and app, and her latest books – the 8-part romance audio series Casanova LLC and the annotated Victorian poetry anthology The Poetry Of My Oxford Year – debuted exclusively on Audiobrary. She is also a Grammy-nominated audiobook director, a former writing tutor, a half-decent amateur baker, and a certified tea sommelier. jmwhelan.com

Casanova, LLC is the audio series that first appeared in Thank You For Listening, the last novel of iconic (fictional) author June French, written for and performed by her nephew, Nick, and her first audiobook narrator, Sewanee. Fans of Thank You For Listening kept saying that they wished they could listen to this story, so… here we are. Julia is just as surprised as you. What began as a joke of a Romance novel premise – a second-chance love story… with a gigolo… descended from Giacomo Casanova – evolved into an intimate exploration of two people who eventually find their way back to not only each other, but also themselves. Casanova LLC is performed by Julia Whelan and Sebastian York (who says, “tell them it’s really Erotic Fiction with an HEA”) and Edoardo Ballerini (who graciously let Julia rope him into this) and Johnathan McClain (who gives an Audie-worthy cameo performance, if only such a category existed).

"Julia Whelan's Casanova LLC is a sensual, tantalizing triumph of a romance. In it, Whelan has crafted a story that’s every bit as poignant as it is erotic (very), an exploration of desire and identity and the myriad ways that each gets tangled up over time. Watching Alessandro and Claire slowly peel back the layers of what they are to other people to finally become who they truly are is both intoxicating and inspiring. Whelan has taken a delightfully meta premise and turned it into something transcendent."

Emily Henry, NYTimes #1 Bestselling Author

"Casanova LLC is destined to be an instant romance classic! I've never had my toes curl so hard while listening to an audiobook. Casanova LLC has a killer premise, unforgettable characters, and a Venetian setting so vivid you can taste the food and feel the sun-baked stones under your feet. Julia Whelan delivers exquisite prose and immaculate chemistry. She is spellbinding as an elegant and vulnerable Claire, and Sebastian York smolders as the filthily tender Alessandro — and the duet narration between the two of them is incandescent. The story shivers with sensuality from start to finish (...and I do mean finish). All of my spicy Julia Whelan dreams have come true! Five stars!”

Sierra Simone, USA Today bestselling author of Priest and A Merry Little Meet Cute

"Casanova LLC is an absolute winner. It is hilarious, charming, sexy, and sweet, with one of the best audio productions I've ever heard. I canceled plans so I could keep listening. Julia Whelan outdid herself with this one.”

Taylor Jenkins Reid, New York Times bestselling author of Daisy Jones & The Six and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

"Casanova LLC is Julia Whelan's sexiest, most dazzling book yet!”

Abby Jimenez, New York Times Bestselling author of Yours Truly

"Casanova LLC miraculously manages to be everything you could possibly want from a book! Enthralling, escapist, wise, witty, feminist, romantic, lavishly erotic, and beautifully, beautifully written. And then performed at a level of perfection that is truly mind-blowing.”

Allison Larkin, internationally bestselling author of The People We Keep

An Extraordinary Listen

Short version: Casanova LLC is a fabulous book. Very well written and fabulously performed by an outstanding cast. Go buy or rent it from Audiobrary and listen to it now.
Long version: I first listened to this book in June 2025, having checked it out from my local library. I loved it. While generally I do not purchase audiobooks, I could not resist buying this one when I found it on Audiobrary – including extras in the Rabbit Hole edition. Listening to it a second time (in early September), I heard nuances that I did not on the first time through. Depth and feeling, that I missed. It became, for me, a transcendent experience. Adding the Rabbit Hole interviews and extras deepened the experience. I felt as though I knew Claire; that she became part of my life. I could see in her aspects of myself (still recognizing that we are, in fact, very different people). Alessandro, too, feels part of my circle of close friends. “Watching” the two of them work out who they were, who they wanted to be, who they needed to be felt like an honor and a privilege. Ms. Whelan’s writing is intelligent and thought provoking. It sparkles. Her performance, and the cast’s, sets new standards that others will have to work very hard to match – if they even can.

I didn’t want to leave

As usual, Julia Whelan is an artist of the highest caliber in her field, but there is just something that much more amazing when she is narrating a book that she wrote (with help from June French 😉).
The story, far from being the farce it could have been, was masterfully told in the best duel narration I’ve heard in a long time. I immediately downloaded “Thank You for Listening” and loved it as well.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate it when our listeners take the time to let us know their thoughts and feelings.

An Authentic Connection

In your previous book, Thank You for Listening, both Nick and Sewanee grew so much together, leaving me wanting to explore Nick—or Brock McNight—even further. That curiosity is what made me especially eager to listen to Casanova LLC. Here, I sense that Brock McNight, in particular, feels a strong kinship with Alessandro, just as Sewanee likely sees herself in Claire. The way Alessandro and Claire evolve throughout the book is so beautifully handled. Yes, it’s a spicy story—as you’d expect from a title like Casanova LLC—but it’s clear that this is how these characters connect most authentically, and it’s delivered with such taste and purpose; every word feels perfectly placed. The narration feels incredibly real, and I loved hearing your laugh and giggles.

Julia, I usually adore hearing you perform male characters, but I have to say that Sebastian’s performance was sublime. The chemistry between the two of you felt genuinely alive.

And the song at the end? The perfect final touch! By the time I finished listening, it was 3 a.m., and that song felt like a lullaby, gently wrapping up the experience. I’m so grateful for you, your work, and your wonderful team. With love from Spain.

LLC

Like most other reviewers, I'm a big Julia Whelan fan. I commented once before that she could read the manhattan phone directory and I would be enthralled.
The multi-character narration works well in this story. However, the LLC concept is little more than a happily ever after fairy tale ending and a clever way to resolve a dilemma. Maybe I'm missing something, but I have a hard time believing Alessandro and Claire could carry on with their separate "guests" while having an intimate relationship of their own. What is their business plan?
My first listen, I had the impression that Richard had compromised Claire's rights under their pre-up agreement by causing Alessandro to seduce her at their rehearsal dinner. The second listen, not so sure.
