Julia Whelan recording

Hi! I’m Julia Whelan and this is Audiobrary, a platform devoted exclusively to human storytelling.

I’ve been an award-winning audiobook narrator for 15+ years and have recorded over 600 books (and at least as many pieces of long-form journalism). I also happen to be an internationally bestselling author of the critical darlings My Oxford Year, Thank You For Listening, and Casanova LLC.

As such, I believe in the power of the written word, the spoken word, and the magic that happens when they come together. And I’m not alone. Devout listeners have turned audiobooks into a multi-billion dollar industry. Sadly, however, that money has not trickled down to the people whose talents have built the industry.

This is what Audiobrary is endeavoring to change. When you purchase through Audiobrary, you are supporting the people who make the art, not the corporations that merely distribute it.

How? Well, check out our About page for more info. And don't miss our Press page for the latest media coverage. In the meantime, rest assured that every Audiobrary production was written by humans, performed by humans, and cleaned up by humans (because let’s face it, humans aren’t perfect, which is exactly what makes us interesting).
